Places to see in Brighton

Royal PavillionOne of the places to see in Brighton is the Royal Pavilion, a former Royal palace built for the Prince Regent during the 1800s.

It is known for its Indian architecture and for its oriental interior design. Nearby is Brighton Pier, also called the Palace Pier, opened in 1899 as the biggest pier in Brighton. Travelers can see a funfair, restaurants and exciting arcade halls.

The West Pier is another pier built in 1866 that was once a tourist attraction until it burned down in 2003.

Visitors have the opportunity to go on the Volk’s Electric Railway, the world’s oldest operating electric railway. Another fascinating tourist spot is the 11th century St. Nicholas church, which is the oldest building in Brighton. There are other lovely churches, primarily St. Bartholomew’s and the Church of St. Peter.
